The final year students of the Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering Departments at Travancore Engineering College, Kollam, recently completed a successful five-day internship focused on the essentials of AutoCAD. This program was designed to equip students with practical skills in one of the most widely used design software in engineering and architecture. Throughout the internship, students engaged in hands-on training, learning the fundamentals of AutoCAD, including drawing techniques, editing commands, and layer management. Expert instructors guided them through various projects, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. The program emphasized the importance of precision and attention to detail in design, helping students develop their technical skills while also fostering creativity. By the end of the internship, participants had gained a solid understanding of how to create and modify 2D and 3D drawings, which are essential skills for their future careers. The successful completion of this internship not only enhanced the studentsβ technical abilities but also prepared them for the demands of the engineering industry, where proficiency in design software like AutoCAD is highly valued. Overall, the initiative proved to be a valuable experience, providing students with the tools and confidence they need as they transition into professional roles.
